You won’t find as many cricket matches on your direct tv as you’ll find American Football but that doesn’t mean the world doesn’t care. If you’re hurting for some of the King’s Game and you can’t find it in your area, here are a few suggestions:
Get the Cricket Channel: Some TV providers offer a dedicated cricket channel, much like the MLB or NFL networks. If you’re willing to pay a little extra you could have cricket 24 hours a day but be careful – it’s a slippery slope.
Join a League: There may be a cricket league near you, particularly if you live in or near a major metropolitan area. Look for one with similarly aged people and hey, you may make some friends with similar interests, too!
Live Stream: Some websites offer live streaming of important matches, albeit for a fee. If it’s really important to you to see that one game make sure you get online and get set up before the players are set to begin. You can even hook your laptop up to your TV for prime viewing!

Cricket is a sport that many do not play simply because they see it as difficult. In fact cricket is fairly easy to learn and is a fun sport to play. To start off there are two types of cricket which are Test cricket, which is played for five days, and one day cricket which is the shorter version of test cricket. For those who want to play cricket, finding a field to play on is important. Cricket is only played on an oval field so playing on a field meant for cricket is your best option. You will also need two squads (teams) of 11.
Playing the game isn-t that difficult. First you need to determine which team is on the field. Once that is decided the ball should be bowled to the striker. The person bowling the ball should try to get the striker out by hitting the wicket. The striker should hit the ball and the batsmen run to reach the opposing popping creases. The whole idea of the game is to score six runs. This is done by hitting the ball over the boundary line without the ball touching the ground. On the opposite team that is on the field should try to get an over by getting the striker out, catching the ball in the air or by breaking the wicket behind the striker.
